Lady Tigers Announce Four Signees

GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University head women’s basketball coach Freddie Murray announced the addition of four signees.

Murray rounded out his 2019-20 recruiting class with four talented young ladies in Alexis Vaughn, Tae’lor Willard, Keturah Bingham and Leah Morrow.

Vaughn, a 5-foot-8 guard, will join the Lady Tigers with two years of eligibility remaining after starting for Central Arizona College for the past two seasons.

“Vaughn brings size, leadership and strength to the guard position,” Murray said. “She is a versatile guard with a competitive spirit that can score at all levels and do a multitude of things.  She is the definition of a gym-rat and is constantly working on her craft.

Willard, a 5-6 guard, will join the Lady Tigers after leading her Woodbridge High School team to a state title in Woodbridge, Va. this year.

“Tae’lor is a leader and true definition of a point guard competitor and will be a very good fit for our program,” Murray said. “She is proven winner and not afraid to speak up and demand more from her teammates.  Her energy and passion for the game are infectious and she is going to be exciting to watch.”

Bingham, a 6-0 post, transferred from University of Central Arkansas and played at Ouachita High School. She will be a great fit for the Lady Tigers this season.

“Keturah is an experienced player that gives us size and toughness on the interior,” Murray said. “She’s a Louisiana kid that has the ability to score the basketball and is a great passer.  She is a high IQ player that can score at all 3 levels and will make an impact on both ends of the floor.”

Morrow, a 5-9 guard/forward, can play multiple positions.  She is a transfer from Saint Francis University and because of transfer rules will have to sit out the 2019-20 season.

“Leah is an incredible scorer who can really score the basketball in a variety of ways,” Murray said. “She is a tireless worker with a high basketball IQ and another young woman who just wants to be great.  She is fearless in all aspects of the game has played in big games.  Her best basketball is ahead or her and I’m pumped to add a player like her to our program.”

Murray is thrilled with the final four signings and looks forward to having them a part of the Grambling family.

“We are very excited about the addition of these young ladies as they will add to the culture and success of this program and believe our fans will enjoy watching them play,” Murray said.
