Badger Volleyballs win AVCA Team Academic Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) court and beach volleyball teams earned recognition on the United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 2019-2020 Team Academic Awards list as released by the AVCA on Monday afternoon.

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.

This season marks the third consecutive year that the Badger court volleyball team has won the award.

In conjunction with the Academic Team Awards publication, the AVCA announced that both SHC squads reached their annual Dig Pink® fundraising goals through the Side-Out Foundation. Dig Pink® is a nationwide movement to provide meaningful and impactful experiences for athletes while inspiring and empowering them to come together in support of the stage IV breast cancer community. Each year, hundreds of teams across the country (and some overseas) participate in the Dig Pink® Rally.
